Manchester Chester Manchester Sportive

Monday 21 October 2013

Welcome to Manchester Chester Manchester Cyclosportive. We have three great routes 30 miles 60 miles and 100 miles designed by experienced local club cyclists.
Starting at Poynton Leisure Centre the ride takes to riders across the Cheshire Plains through Delamere Forest near to Chester on a circular route paste Beeston Castle and back to Poynton. All three routes are relatively flat, there are some small hills and undulations but no big hills. Fabulous countryside and some very quiet roads especially around Delamere and Beeston Castle

We also have an over flow car park at the Primary School around the corner which has a short walk way back to the Leisure Centre. Please follow the directions of the Leisure Centre staff who are there to help you

We would prefer you NOT to park on the road outside the Leisure Centre. If you do opt to park on the road outside the Leisure Centre please do not obstruct the driveways of the local residents as you will get a parking ticket and may have your car towed away

We use a Barcode electronic timing system. The barcode is printed on your number. In order for our scanners to read the barcode it is important to attach your number to your handlebars, do not to obstruct it and to keep it as flat as possible.

There will be a feeding stations at half distance on each of the three routes where we will have the usual favourites High 5 Energy Gels, Bananas, Flap Jacks, High 5 Energy drinks, Fruit Juice and Fresh Drinking Water

We use a Black Arrow on a Florescent Yellow background to sign the route. We also mark the roads with a RED arrow using temporary spray. The Route signs are put out just before the events and are checked on the morning of the event. We also have a vehicle that proceeds the riders making sure the signs are still in place. Everything to keep on the right track.
